ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
07/09/2007
Seventh-round draft choice Keith Jackson, a defensive tackle from the University of Arkansas, signed a three-year contract with the Rams on Monday.
Financial terms of Jackson's deal were not immediately available.
Jackson, who is 6 feet and 305 pounds, is the third member of the Rams' 2007 draft class to join the fold.
Previously, the team signed third-round pick Jonathan Wade, a cornerback from Tennessee, and seventh-rounder Derek Stanley, a wide receiver from Wisconsin-Whitewater.
Jackson, the 248th draft pick overall (Stanley was 249th), started 28 games at Arkansas and was first-team All-Southeastern Conference as a senior. He finished with 43 solo tackles, 2.5 sacks, 7.5 tackles for loss and intercepted two passes, returning one for a touchdown.
His father, Keith Jackson Sr., was an All-America tight end at the University of Oklahoma and is in the College Football Hall of Fame. A first-round draft pick by Philadelphia in 1988, he made six Pro Bowls and won a Super Bowl (with Green Bay) during a nine-year NFL career.
These draft picks remain unsigned by the Rams:
Defensive end Adam Carriker (first round); fullback Brian Leonard (second round); center Dustin Fry (fifth round); defensive tackle Clifton Ryan (fifth round); and offensive tackle Ken Shackleford (sixth round).
